Blackscreen- only HUD and audio working

Hello all!

i have a problem with my graphics.  I only seem to get it to work in " low latency" mode and not in any other graphics settings.

In the other settings i only get a HUD and audio, nothing else will render out. I only installed this game 2 weeks ago. Can not find any recent information about it. Only a article from 2014 about a DX9 issue in BFBC2.

PC specs:
AMD ryzen 5 2600 ( stock)
AMD RX590 Fatboy (stock)
32GB DDR 4 3000 mHz
B450 Fatality

  • @igotnospacebar The first thing I would do is the simplest thing to do is fix the game. You can then try to completely uninstall the GPU driver in safe mode with DDU, and then do a clean reinstallation.
It can also be a malfunction caused by another program, a clean boot should be helpful.

Emptying the origin cash can also fix faulty elements.

Hi thank you for the quick answer.

I have tried DDU with fresh driver and the Cache fix.

I still have the same problem. I don't think i am confident enough to do a clean boot.

need to look into that without doing harm to pc.

    ty though!

@x--Fusi--x i've tried the clean boot.  No services interfere with the game.
i verified the files in Origin. Tried a repair in Origin. The issue still exist, only the min.latency settings will render out the rest of the game.

I've seen on Youtube people with the same card playing on ultra or other settings.

I find it weird that even doing manually settings to low. Breaks the rendering.

Thank you for staying on my topic btw. So far great feedback!

@igotnospacebar If I understood your first post correctly, you tried to switch from DX12 to DX11? and reset the AMD Radeon Settings to default.
You have already checked the drivers / game data and sorware errors. Is that only in BF or also in other games? Then it could also be a hardware error, which is hopefully not the case.

I never switched from Dx12 to Dx11. The toggle was standard off. Even tried it with dx12 but the game wouldn't even load after the splash screen. Had to undo in the .config(only that)

And Radeon settings are fresh after the DDU.  I have never had this problem in Battlefield 4 or any other videogames i own. Only in BF 5 i have this weird issue.

@igotnospacebar You could also try to delete your DirectX cache. And delete the twinkle folder in the location: My Documents>Battlefield V
