Hey @maxxwilliams769
There wasn't any planned downtime or any server issues in the last 24 hours from what I'm made aware of. If you still need help try these steps which help work out for connectivity issues.-
Unplug the modem and router power for at least 3 minutes.

Power cycle the console: http://bit.ly/XB1_PowerCycle
-
Clear the MAC Address: From the Xbox dashboard select Settings>All Settings>Network>Network Settings>Advanced Settings>Alternate MAC address>Clear, then restart your Xbox.
If those steps don't get you connected above, it's quite possible you just have to sign into our Help site at Help.EA.com using your Microsoft credentials so you can ping our servers. Once your Origin ID and account details are created (if you never played an EA game before) it should let you on.
Thanks for playing Battlefield V with us and see you out there with us. -
- You may need to share a small portion of your network settings before we can move foward. Are you wired or wireless? What is your NAT Type? NAT type can be found in Settings > All Settings > Network
I have wireless connection. And my NAT type is open.
I’ve tried all of those methods and even contacted costumer support but they told me the exact same thing. Nothing has worked.
Hey @maxxwilliams769,
Sorry to hear you're still having connection issues.
Do you have an updated Xbox Live Gold membership?
Have you tried these steps?

@maxxwilliams769 I would test plugged into the net to see if it works as wifi is meh at the best of times. If it works plugged in then you know its a wifi issue and you could reset router...
1- turn off PC / Console
2- Unplug power from modem and router if you have both
3- Leave it unplugged 10 min no less
4- If you have both modem and router then ... After 10 min plug modem back in let it fully boot up. Then plug in router and let it fully boot up.
5- Then turn on PC/ console and see if it helps at all.i have a full year of xbox live and it’s been working. i’ve been able to play battlefield 4 and 1. but my 5 does not work.
another note, i can play single player. but when i first load in it ask me to do a in game update. when i press yes, it doesn’t let me, and says i couldn’t connect to ea online.

Hey @maxxwilliams769 if you're still having some trouble connecting online please private message me your Gamertag.
- I'm having the same issue now too with both BFV and BF1 on my XBOXX and XBOX1. All subscriptions are current, I don't see that I've been blocked, other games work fine. Cleared the Mac, followed all the steps listed, still a no go. I get the "update needed to play online" but when I hit "A" to update nothing happens. Its very frustrating.
