Do you have the game installed on the internal or an external hard drive? If you have the game installed on an external hard drive, make sure there aren't files on both the internal and external drive. That can cause some weird performance issues.
Have you tried a reinstall? I'm concerned an update might have corrupted files. So far we don't have too many reports coming our way about this and with how popular dog tags are for Battlefield players I'd imagine we would see a lot more reports on this if it was widespread. Can you reinstall to confirm it's still affecting your account after performing that step?
Nearly two years later and it’s still bugged out. Reinstalled and everything, still can’t equip them. No matter how many times you select the dog tag then mash equip it will not change.

There is a more recent thread discussing this issue (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-V/I-cant-use-my-Dog-Tags-on-battlefield-V/td-p/10142471/page/2), so you should rather post there instead of reopening this 3 year ols thread.
As one of our forum heros stated: EA is aware of the issue.🙂

Correct. As the issue of not being able to equip dogtags started happening recently, you should post in the recent thread as was said above.
