Controller overrides mouse movement

Recently got an Xbox one controller and wireless adapter for PC to replace the off-brand wired controller that I previously had. The old controller worked fine in-game and there were no problems with the Xbox one controller playing wired in or through Bluetooth until I got the wireless adapter. In every other game, both my mouse and controller work great, but in BFV, the mouse won't register movement, but all the buttons work on the mouse. Even if I go back to Bluetooth or wired this issue occurs (even though they both worked fine before I got the adapter).

 Some ideas would be great

    Hmm, gotcha. That's definitely strange.

Can you test something else for me? What happens if you create a new Admin user in Windows and launch BFV through that account? For more info on how to create a new user check out the Microsoft Support website

Let me know how that goes when you've got a chance. Thanks!

Gotcha, thanks for giving it a shot.

Just to confirm, it only happens while the controller is actually connected? If it's not plugged in or paired via Bluetooth your mouse works normally in BFV?

  • @EA_Kent yes it also doesn't work when I use the Xbox adapter USB stick. This is the method with which the problem originated. The USB cable to controller and Bluetooth worked fine before I plugged in the adapter USB stick but haven't worked since. Even if the stick is not connected to the PC.

    I see, thanks.

It sounds like the driver for that USB adapter may have made a change to the way the PC handles inputs coming from the controller and mouse. Unfortunately I don't know of a way to adjust that manually.

Removing the driver or going back to a previous system restore point may help stop it from happening, but otherwise it might be best to disconnect the controller before you fire up BFV so that you can use the mouse without any issues.

Sounds like a registry file might of been changed by using the usb adapter.
No idea how you would find which one though, if that is the case.
