DirectX out of memory error

So I'm having an issue that's blocking me from playing BFV

I get a DirectX Crash telling me that I'm out of GPU memory. It is NOT something wrong with my GPU beacuse I have actually tested this with 2 different GPUs. A 2080 Ti and a 1080. I tried a lot of things to fix it, none worked. In fact, so far I tired to: Remove Origin Cache, Uninstall then reinstall Origin, Repair the game with Origin, turn off Origin in game, Uninstall then Reinstall the game, install the game on a different SSD, tried running the game in both DX11 and DX12 (It's a bit more dramatic with DX12 as I can't even start a game, it crashes in the menus, while with DX11 I can actually load up a game), updated to the latest Windows 10 version, uninstall the GPU drivers with DDU, reinstalled them, installed an older GPU driver, removed GPU overclocks, removed CPU overclocks, removed GeForce Experience and NONE of these things fixed my issue. I'm bitterly disappointed as the game itself is very good.

I don't know what to try next... does anyone have any idea?

The rest of my system is:

Ryzen 1800x

32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum

Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 5

Corsair RM850i PSU

I think the rest is irrelevant.

@EA_BlueberryThanks for the answer but I figured out the issue, it was an issue with the motherboard that for some reason caused the GPU drivers to crash.

    Hey @Calinusx

Can you attach a DxDiag report for me so we can take a deeper look at your system specs?

Here's how to get a DxDiag report

Here are some other things you can try as well:

    • Disable/enable Future Frame Rendering in settings
    • Turn on Video > Advanced > GPU Memory Restriction within the game settings. (set it to 60 or 120, based on your setup)
    • Turn off Origin In-Game Overlay in Origin, and the Battlefield V game properties in Origin
    • If you have any external secondary hard drives attached to the PC please remove it
    • Try the game in Windowed Mode
    • Enable/Disable hyperthreading
    • Switch off HDR in-game

    Thanks and good luck.

  • Hi, Im having a similar issue. Do you remember what you changed on the bios settings to fix this?

  • I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield V, please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
