DLSS On Crashes Game Randomly

Product: Battlefield V
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 AMP Graphics Card
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Game Menu
In which game menu were you when the bug occurred? Crashes on Startup sometimes, in menu sometimes, and in game sometimes. Within 5 minutes usually.
Please select your region North America
On which server did this happen? NA
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) Everytime DLSS is on
Summarize your bug Only when DLSS is turned on (DXR Ray Tracing does not crash game) the game will crash. Either on load up, in a menu, or in game. I've tried restarting my computer, verifying BFV files, updating all drivers including Nvidia, turning off any overclocking, and adjusting in-game settings. The solution is to turn off DLSS, but I was quite excited to use this feature with my RTX card. I have a 3440x1440 Ultrawide monitor I am playing on if that affects it at all since DLSS is based on the resolution and this is an uncommon resolution. When it crashes to desktop, there is no error log.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Others on the forums have had the same problem, but all of the answers are "Me too! Turn off DLSS!" Could try reproducing with the same resolution monitor, or with the same graphics card perhaps?
What happens when the bug occurs? Crashes to desktop. No error log at all.
What should be happening instead? It should play and not crash

That update did indeed fix the issue. Sadly, though, DLSS seems to blur the image and causes some moving jagged edges far away in certain situations. Seems like cool technology with some significant FPS improvement, but I'd rather keep it disabled, lose the frames, and gain back some clarity in vision. Hopefully, tech improves soon.

  • Hey, @Shadeve

After today's update these were some changes to DLSS.

    • DLSS is now also supported in borderless mode.
    • Made improvements to DLSS sharpness.

Can you try playing in borderless window to see if it still crashes on you?
