feedback on community server

one good feature on  this server is that it is allowed the host to block or ban players, esp cheatin player. however , i know this server will occupy some resourses on server side , getting this community server function only from working if the host is in the server too. it is a drawback that u know, the host can't log in or stay in the server and wait ppl to join , so others will not  "see" this server from the server browser in this situation.

i just want to say, for an example, if u log in the game, and set the server, can it be allowed active for some hrs, like 5hrs itself, so even i leave the server, it wouldn't be closed unless over certain time interval, like 1 hrs, if no anyone join it. so ppl can still see how many community server there , it is better for the community server , currently it is closed if the host leave the server.

  • I believe the server remains active so long as there is at least 1 player still inside, regardless of status; I'm afraid there won't be any changes to Community games for BFV going forward as support officially ended some time ago and they are working hard on the next title. I recommend appointing admin status to a few out of region friends so you have higher chances of keeping players in the server.

Could be a bug or intended, but you need a server reset (ie 0 people on the server) to see any change in name - I hope this will be made simpler in the next title.

  • furthermore, there is a bug on renameing community server,  it will not update the change of name.

Community servers are for communities...  You only need 4 players to start one so it doesn't have to be a big community 🙂  so you need a second account with BFV and a second PC, you log on with that PC and go spectate your community game.  Now your server won't shut down even if it empties while the spectator is in and the game doesn't time out the spectator.

If the server population drops to two the round will reset and wait for 4 players again before restarting.

The next level is to start the game with the second PC  once the game is started jump out and load back into the server as a spectator..  You can't kick from spectator mode but you can ban. Then you set a remote access to your second PC and now you can have multiple admins who can setup rotations, change settings, start up or shut down games.  It is clunky but it does work and gives you and your community some level of control.

Been running this for a year now and we have a pretty cool server playing what we want, when we want and against who we want.....

Oh and Champ that answer is not correct, there is a bug with renaming a setup rotation...   it seems new   best to delete it and start a fresh rotation,   it use to work but has been buggy the last few weeks.
