Freezing DX12
With Direct X 12 enabled I noticed the game freezes every so often for a few seconds which seems like its random. When I go into spectator mode it is so choppy to the point it crashes the game. I'm t...
Hey @2042isNotBF switched,as i told you,to DX12 and had no issues at all! I guess since the last time i tried DX12 the drivers got better and i have no stutters!I can't say for sure if i have had less FPS cause are more or less the same as they were with DX11.
Yes,no DXR in multiplayer!I will enable it when i'll play the campaign for some eye candy.
I'm more than happy with the performance of my setup but i was thinking in upgrading to the i9 9900k. Since you have the 9900k,would you recommend me the upgrade, will i see any big performance differences from the 6800k?
@SnakeEyesPC Nice happy DX12 works for you correct.
I have the I9 - 9900K and from my i7-5960X yes a difference but once I got my ram at its correct speeds 4266Mhz and put in the ROG Strix OC 2080 Ti it made a huge difference.
On my 144HRz 40 inch screen on med settings and 2 settings on ultra I get 170 - 200Fps in BFV and I stay more near 200FPS for my screen size this is amazing to me.
I love the Maximus XI Extreme MB but some changes in Bios with XMP.. xmp 1, xmp2 for my ram XMP2 should work lol not so far. I could not get my ram on its speeds and yes it's in the QVL. I tried so many different bios it was crazy :/ It was not until I went all the way back to bios 602 think I put down bios 603 but its bios 602 I am on. Anyway once on 602 I got my ram at 4266 on manual settings, XMP 1 or XMP2 was a no go for me was not stable at all :/ .
It was not a fun build to set up and many people on ROG site still use bios 602 to have things stable with the OC . Was this build worth it now yes but the first 4 weeks I was smashing my head so mad XMP was a no go not stable and so much ram testing with karhu ram test paid for... best 20 bucks ever spent for a program to test ram. I also had issues on the new build from first start up DP cable would not work I had to put a HDMI cable on for the first bit until things got set up in bios and windows and never had this in the past with any build , new gen gear new issues :/ lol
So my point is if you go down this road what I said is a heads up you could run into some fun times setting her up. When all is said and done best rig ever but a huge pain to get stable with ram and my screen #$%!! that was a full on well I can't say the words on AHQ but you get the idea.
@2042isNotBFI was thinking in keeping the RAM's i already have (32 gb @3200mhz) and upgrading the rest, cpu and MB.Do you think i will also need faster memories?i was hoping that the corsairs i already got could keep up and support nicely the 9900k.
For a mb i was thinking in buying the rog maximus XI Code, like her looks! 🙂
@SnakeEyesPC The rog maximus XI Code is a very nice MB for sure good reviews on it so good choice.
When we put in the new MB in ..ROG Rampage V 10 series on my i7-5960X yesterday I ran into issues with xmp and my Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 - 3600MHz - 32GB. BSOD back in windows after I set XMP after windows was done and stable I tried xmp 3200 :/ Ram is not in the QVL for old MB or new MB but I had it at 3200 on xmp on the ROG Rampage Extreme V and it was good to go for years.
Once some of husbands PC parts come in today I will go down and try to get it stable at 3300 as thats the Rampage V 10 series limit but looks like another manul OC to try and get her good to go. XMP just seems to hate me the last bit lol. But I am thankful for Karhul ram test faster better then memtest 86 or others in my view. As I was told memtest 86 does not catch as much and is not made for the new gen gear, Karhul is more suited for the new gen gear was told this from Asus staff so I trust it. He also said I could use free memtest 64 but to many windows need to be open to test all the ram so I paid for Karhul ram test it's just more easy. Windows ram test is like a bad joke as I have seen it pass ram with issues.

I think your ram would be ok but like me not in QVL you may be in for a small war to get her stable on speeds on a manul OC. And on my new build it was in the QVL for CPU and MB and it was still a war to get it stable on a manul OC so be ready for a war lol.
