Game causes PC to crash, but not how you think.

Have been revisiting all past battlefields recently due to excitement for the new title and all the news about it. All the games run perfectly, except BFV causes my PC to freeze for 10 min, then crash, then attempt to restart itself for about 45min to 1 hour, in total making my PC a very expensive rgb night-light for about 1- 1.5 hours.     But not when I open the game, not when I run the game, only when I close it. doesn't matter which way I do it, close it through the game, through Alt+Tab, closing it in task bar, or using task manager or steam. only started in the last 2 weeks, all diagnostics and my own hardware knowledge says my PC Most likely isnt the issue.

If anyone else has had this issue please let me know what was causing it and how to fix it. Thanks

  • I also encountered this problem. I can't understand why such a strange BUG would occur. Exiting the game caused the computer to freeze and restart. No matter how I updated the graphics card driver or the motherboard BIOS, I couldn't get rid of this nightmare.

It seems the issue might be related to recent updates or conflicts with Battlefield V. Try verifying game files, updating your graphics drivers, and disabling overlays like Steam or Origin. Running the game in borderless mode instead of fullscreen may also help. If the problem persists, consider reinstalling the game.  tollsbymailny

  • This is because the 384b file was updated last time, which caused amd users to play for a short time and restart. The suggestion here is to reduce the voltage and frequency of amd CPU.

    UPDATE:
After many attempts one possible fix worked for me,

    https://forums.ea.com/discussions/battlefield-v-en/bf1bfv-pc-freeze-fix-worked-for-me/12061194

I got the idea from this post (go check it out and give them a  like), I only tried the second part of the solution but so far it has been working. Open control panel, go to power options and change to "balanced".
After this BFV was able to successfully open and not crash, has been working for past hour or so (will update if that changes)
I also uninstalled and reinstalled EAanti-cheat then verified game files before I launched just to be sure, so try that as well if The post linked here doesn't work the first time.
