Game doesn't open properly

When I try to open the game, it opens as a window instead of fullscreen my mouse disappears, and the entire window is black. After about 30 seconds, the window closes and it's like I never tried to open the game in the first place. This has been happening since I first download ed d the game a few days ago, so I've never been able to play it. I've checked for Windows updates, graphics card updates, uninstalled and reinstalled both Origin and the game, etc., and nothing has helped. Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2, and Sims 4 work fine, it's just the one game that doesn't work.

Do you use any anti-virus/firewall that you need to add BFV as an exception to? @Petrifalcon3

Also, make sure that all drivers for windows and your GPU drivers are up to date.

    Hey @Petrifalcon3 @Rupertovsky,

Here are some steps you can try:

    1. Turn off the Origin in-game Overlay in the Origin Launcher

    2. Clear Origin Cache: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

    3. Clean Boot: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

    4. Manually Uninstall/Reinstall Origin: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/

    5. Run CCleaner: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-use-ccleaner-to-fix-pc-issues/

    6. Run Origin and Battlefield V exe as Administrator

Try these steps, and let us know if it works out for you.

    Thank you 🙂

I´ve got the same Issue. Downloaded Origin, Installed BFV. On Launch BFV opens in a black Window for some seconds and then shuts again without any error message. Uninstalled Origin and BFV with CCcleaner. Updated Windows 10, Updated Graphics Driver, reinstalled Origin and BFV and now having the same issue. Workaround would be much appreciated since i bought the game three days ago and wasn´t able to Play a single second of the game. DXdiag is here if that helps

  • Okay,

solved for me! After trying all the stuff that was suggested, like using cccleaner to uninstall and reinstalling BFV and origin, Updating Windows 10, doing a clean boot etc and Nothing of all that did the Trick.

Weirdly it seems to be an issue with a dual monitor Setup in my case. I found out that my second sceen wasnt showing up in the nvidia Widget but only in the Windows screen Setup.

However i never had a single Problem with this Setup in any other game so far. My Primary Monitor was connected to the Mainboard HDMI socket and the other screen was connected to the graphics Card directly.

I Plugged both Monitors to the graphics  Card and since then BFV runs like a charm. So if anyone is runnning a dual screen Setup you might check this. Hope it helps.

  • Unfortunately that isn't the issue with mine. I'm using my laptop, and I'm not hooking it up to any external screens.

  • I don't use any antivirus or firewall that would need this as an exception, and I did make sure everything is updated completely
