Also crashing every 5-10 minutes. 1080ti, latest drivers. system ultra stable in a range of other games.
I get a pop up that is stuck in the background saying:
DirectX function 'Dx11Renderer::map" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED) "The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred. "). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti", Driver: 41694. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers. Also, make sure you have a supported graphics card with at least 2GB.And event log:

Someone in another thread is saying that disabling XMP memory profiles in their BIOS is finding them able to play.
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Keep-crashing-with-no-error-after-about-5-20-mins-BFV/m-p/7183773/highlight/true#M2030So... "Overclocked" RAM is a potential root cause? If so... This is BS. I didn't have this problem using XMP profiles during the Alpha or Beta.
Where the FK is EA here, BTW? I saw a "community manager" floating around SOMEWHERE. Guess he chickened out? - 7 years ago

Ok guys, I have a tentative suggested fix I just used and seems to work. note, my results stem from a single session of Breakthrough, so take it as you will.
Previously, I tried to roll back to the last Nvidia drivers. That didn't work, but recently I started thinking about that. those updates were released 5 days before the newest ones and probably had RTX in them, so I decided to roll back to the Oct 11 drivers ( Version 416.34).
I can happily says I have been playing the last 2 hours with no issue beyond bad teammates 🙂
Gives this a try, and please post your results. - 7 years agoNot Working for me
- 7 years ago
Reverting back to 416.34 only made the game crash AS SOON as I could see the map. HARD crash. As in... My entire system cycled.
HOWEVER... Having tried literally EVERYTHING you can read in the many threads about this...
I finally tried disabling the XMP profile for my memory.
FIXED.
Are you F'ING KIDDING ME!?!? EA has made a REAL pile of SHT code this time. WOW.There are still lots of stupid bugs in the game, though... STILL not buying it. I was stuck in the deployment screen several times - having apparently DEPLOYED - and didn't get to see myself get killed.
EA: It's called QUALITY ASSURANCE. Look INTO IT.
And, for the record, I consider NOT being able to use the XMP profiles of my very expensive memory kit to be a HUUUUUUGE bug. Completely and utterly UNACCEPTABLE.
FIX IT. - 7 years ago
As for my:
DirectX function 'Dx11Renderer::map" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED) "The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred. "). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti", Driver: 41694. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers. Also, make sure you have a supported graphics card with at least 2GB.I managed to get an hour of game time with NO CRASH by forcing the game into DX12 mode. Very odd since others are being told to go to DX11 mode to fix these issues. Tentatively SOLVED for me.
So I've managed to correct my crashing (so far at least) now that I've disabled DOCP RAM settings for my Ryzen setup 🙂 This is essentially XMP for Intel setups.
I managed to play a 30 minute game of Breakthrough without an issue and although it's annoying having to turn off a specific RAM profile it seems to have fixed things for me. Could give that a try.
Thats the point. U have to set the memory auto frecuencies in the BIOS. In other words u have to set default ram and turn off DOCP/XMP profiles and lost the real performance. I cant believe this BUG, this game is unnestable where all the other games arent.
I hope this bug will be solved soon.

DICE Team
Hey everyone,
Thanks for all the information and reporting you have done. I have sent this issue on to the teams and we will investigate on what is going.
Thank you for your patience!

Stuck with small black window that goes out after about 3 mintues with "Battlefield V has stopped working"
Wow. We get a reply, and on Thanksgiving none the less. I don't know whether to be thankful or sad you had to work.
Either way, took you long enough. At least now we know it's acknowledged.
- Anonymous7 years agoI have the same thing... tried everything i can find on youtube/this forum.... cant get it to work... reinstalled Origin and BF5
- 7 years ago
@EA_Atic "Patience" is not the word I'd use to describe what I feel about this situation right now.
Being blunt here... You guys took WAY too long to acknowledge this thread and the problems contained herein. It's as if you guys forgot that this is a AAA title from a massive franchise that you peddle to us. Day 1 issues like this should have been caught CLEAR before the release. So we're all a little upset that something so ridiculous is holding us back from playing this game that we've been waiting for.
Please get your dev teams to find the issue and fix it - post-haste. Would be great to see a patch ASAP.
That said... Happy freakin' turkey day. - Anonymous7 years agoHave same problem as u guys....
So DX12 still crashes. Instead of DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED though its a DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
Game crashes often. No resolution in sight. Not happy.
- 7 years agoSame problem guys, bf5 crash on desktop after 20-60 min of game.
Temperature of Video Card and CPU it's ok, about 60-70с
I have i7-3770k, MSI radeon rx480 8g game edition.
I have new clear win10 (installed 5 days ago), last drivers, i try to put defaul settings of OverClock mode. Dx11 and dx12.
Nothing help! - Anonymous7 years ago
I just want to confirm that disabling XMP and using "auto" profile ram in bios has fixed the problem.
I hope EA fix that, i never had any problem before that mini patch that loaded in game screen.
i tryed everything before, even reinstalled windows. Disable XMP fixed it - 7 years ago
But i had disabled XMP... It was auto from begin
- 7 years ago
So yeah my disabling of XMP on my system worked initially but it's now crashing again.
I honestly reckon it's an issue with the game engine in all honesty, there's just something not right here with so many systems falling victim to this crash.
I genuinely don't expect them to fix it to be honest.
- 7 years agoMy CPU is the same. But I'm using a GTX 1080 /16GB RAM...impossible to complete a MP or Campaign ...
Same here, game keeps crashing (0xc0000005). Sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after 1 hour.
4790k / 1080ti / 16GB RAM, Win10 Pro x64, latest drivers

"dx11renderer and hr1" error here....
i pretty much spent the entire day (no joke) trouble shooting the problem, reading countless threads and posts. Ive done the following..Cleared and deleted origin cache, updated windows build from 1803 to 1809, updated my Realtek HD Audio driver, updated my z97 chipset driver, repaired bfv thru origin, reinstalled latest nvidia drivers, updated my killer e2200 ethernet driver, toggled between dx11 and dx12 in game. downloaded and installed 2017 visual C++ distribution x86 and x64 None of these worked to solve the problem.
This morning on the train on my to work i found this. https://imgur.com/gallery/6FbM45I
There is a memory leak with this game. tonight i will try that wagnardsoft tool to help clear ram as im playing to see if that works. i will post my results tomorrow. hope this helps anyone that has this problem - 7 years ago
As an old BF Veteran said: Wait until the developers fix their stuff.
It has always been this way, some systems dont work on release, but give it a year, everything runs smooth without any change on your side.
