Keyboard input issue

Hi

Just recently I've started to see issues with my keyboard inputs - for example, I use the W key to move forward, holding it to keep moving yet it will suddenly stop and I have to release the key and push it down again to start walking again. Multiple inputs - such as shift & a - is very much hit and miss, sometimes the player runs forward, sometimes it walks forward, other times it stops. When I enter the game, I can replicate the issue easily because if I press the Tab key to bring up the scoreboard, it flashes on and off as if I'm pressing and releasing the keyboard key rapidly.

This happens of Battlefield V and 1 but doesn't happen on other games such as call of Duty. I've tried disconnecting all game controllers, running a clean boot, connecting the keyboard to different USB ports, trying a different USB Keyboard but nothing works. I've checked for sticky keys, updated my nVidia drivers to the latest version using a clean install but no difference. I've tested my windows environment using DISM and SFC - no issues reported.

However what I did see was an old post where it was claimed that it was an issue with Frostbite - considering CoD doesn't have this issue. I'm tending down this route hence wanted to ask what to do. My system is based around an Asus 550 Mainboard, Ryzen 3700X CPU, 32GB RAM, nVIdia RTX 2070 GPU, Windows 10. I've tried with a normal USB keyboard as well as a Logitech gaming keyboard,.however nothing has helped, Attached is my DxDiag text; and a video in 2 Rar archives showing the issue. The blinking in the video is much slower than it happens in reality.

Thanks

  • Its a well known issue reported many times but never picked up by DICE. My guess is that it is related to 3rd party software that comes with gaming keyboard/mouse.

  • I play in battlefield 5 from my 2 PC's and have same problem. For the last 3 months, the game regularly stops working, loses connection, and DICE has stopped banning cheaters. The game cannot find servers right now. And it is in the last 3 months that such strange problems have appeared. Although I faced this problem before, but now it breaks out too often.

  • Tired that. Clean Install, clean boot. Nothing helps. Oh well, saves me buying Battlefield 6, I suppose.....
