Maxes out CPU when I want to record or stream

everytime I open up OBS or Bandicam, the whole game lags like hell and maxes out my CPU. normally the game only uses about 40-50% but open up a recording program and it jacks itself up to 75% or enough to hit 100% CPU useage. this is insanity because OBS usually uses only about 6%. shouldnt the game be relying more on GPU? ive tried to optimize the game several times to run better (turning on DX12, disabling GPU limiter, ect) but nothing helps. I have an i7-7700K with a 1080TI and 32GB of ram so there is no way in hell this should be happening.

little bit 'a proof for yuh: https://youtu.be/QiOsIaixcb0

    Hey @Crashh_TBE

Hopefully we get some tips from other streamers within the community here for you. Have you tried switching off HDR in-game? We're seeing a lot of players have improved performance when they set their clocking speeds to default (or make sure they're not overclocking the GPU).

i have my CPU and GPU stock (because i dont know how and i really havent seen a need. it is kinda tempting to do it now though. hahaha

  • Battlefield V uses more CPU than older games and at high settings and unlimited FPS easily maxes out your CPU.

Are you using the Hardware(NVENC) encoder in OBS? Does it help if you limit the FPS to 60?

  • Yeah. I do use NVENC H.264. and in the games settings I have the frame rate limiter set to 200 because it was part of an optimization guide I watched. I'll try it with limiting 60 in a few minutes

Setting the framerate limiter to 200 makes sense for recording when you have the extra CPU power to do it. BFV however easily uses up to 6 cores and your CPU has 4 so, in this case, limiting your FPS to somewhere comfortable below your medium FPS will give you some breathing room for your CPU to handle the recording as well. 60 FPS is probably too low but if it works it will give an indication that this is where the problem lies and that we are on the right track.
