When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
Summarize your bug Memory leak. Only happens when playing BF5. Memory usage will continue going up once I start the game. Once it hits 12Gb the game stutters and at 15Gb the game will crash to the desktop. Fixing this issue requires a standby memory cleaner or a pc reboot to clear standby memory. Memory leak seems to happen faster with DX11 for me, but also happens with DX12. No error upon crash to desktop. Took me about a month of troubleshooting to figure this out. I am 100% certain this is the reason for crashing to desktop.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Monitor virtual memory usage while playing multiplayer.
What happens when the bug occurs? Stuttering, freezing, and finally crash to desktop.
What should be happening instead? Smooth 100+fps.

Took me about a month of troubleshooting to figure this out. I have reset my overclocks, repaired game with origin, reinstalled game.

I recently did a fresh windows install with a new SSD and the issue persisted.

  • Sad to say this isn't Battlefield V. The whole issue is with Windows 10 and not releasing standby memory and has been for the past few years with no acknowledgement or fix in sight by Microsoft.

the only fix that people have found is scheduling one of the many dump standby memory programs to work in the background every five to ten mins. I've had this issue with Battlefield 1 and other games before I discovered why.
