No connection can be made to EA servers (error code 2000)

A while ago I pre-ordered the deluxe version of BF5. The Origin Premier early play scheme meant friends of premiers could play a 10 hour trial, which I did. My 7 days of trial origin access expired on Friday 16 Nov, and ever since I haven't been able to connect to EA's servers, getting the error code 2000 every time.

Despite this, however, if I am in the menus (in an "offline" state), a friend can invite me to their game and it lets me join (despite being unable to change any weapons etc), therefore proving any connection issue or game file issue false. 

My suspicion is that origin hasnt recognised me having owned the game and is not letting me connect as my origin access trial has expired.

Hopefully I can get this resolved ASAP because I miss the game lots ☹️
