@PUKEM While the slouch hat has been a primary symbol of our Australian forces, the slouch has been around since the American Civil war and was used not only by the US but by the Canadians, British and french soldiers in both world wars as by pinning the side of the brim to one side, allowed a rifle to be slung over the shoulder with ease.

Technically speaking the slouch hat was actually an American design that was adapted by many other countries for it's practicality but primarily used today by our Australian forces.
