same happend to me, few times got killed and my hp shows 11-14 but im dead and no timer for respawn. i was able to shoot from pistol and main weapon, but it not cause any damage, as i see piat killed u...
anyway its a bug and must be fixed, cuz its not even funny to be downed like this and cant respawn until some comes to revive u....
