They changed this back in BF1 so that you're auto killed. Otherwise, people will camp in the previous sector. The prime example is Monte Grappa when players were literally camped in the B bunker and it took forever to progress the game. You do get 1 minute to retreat + 9 seconds of out of bounds. I did request, however, that the in-bounds for the next sector overlap with the previous sector, because the distance is too long: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-Information/Sector-1-Day-2-Battle-of-Hannut-Retreat-Too-Long/m-p/7590598#M5791

@SterlingARCH3RThere definitely needs to be ENOUGH TIME to retreat. That is ridiculous. I'm fairly certain it was less than 1 minute as I was in full retreat from the moment we lost it.

@SterlingARCH3RI've confirmed that this CANNOT be a game design issue. Was defending on Arras Breakthrough today. The SPLIT second that we lost the sector I was placed out of bounds had had 8 seconds to try to get into bound.
I DIED. Game is broken.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I just played Breakthrough on Arras and the 1 minute retreat is there. Maybe it's a different bug or something else altogether. I did notice, however, that there's a patch of territory in between sector 1 and sector 2 that belongs to neither team during the retreat. That patch of land should belong to the Defenders for retreating purposes only.
