First and foremost it's there for balance purposes, especially so with all the changes to spotting and enemy visability.
It makes sense not to have it if you are on the side of thr sun but giving one side an advantage like that would break the game's flow unfortunately.
In BF1 the marksmen scopes didn't give off the glint - is this the same in BFV - which level optic does or doesn't glint????
3X and below won't glint, 6X and higher will glint
