I was having the exact same issue. GeForce experience wasnt telling me of a new driver. Turns out my pihole was blocking the notification. Updated my driver to 416.94 and it was literally night and day in performance. Hope updating your drivers works for you!
Im up to date on everything with port forwarding as well.
