Why can't I play Road To Glory like it's designed?

So I go to RTG. I build my character, do all the equipment and whatnot, but it won't let me play the high school portion where I have to compete and let the schools come to me. It automatically takes me to the section where I choose my school. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
