Player Upgrades & Abilities

We were told that we would have a skill group based upgrade system but when you click on the player cards you never have enough tokens to do any upgrades. Even after legendary performances or crazy numbers nobody gets upgrades.

There also is an issue with the way abilities level up and progress. Players can meet the minimum requirement for specific abilities but they still won’t show or activate. Meanwhile some players don’t meet the threshold for minimum requirements and they have specific abilities.

    This one has me really confused.  I didn't even realize we were supposed to be able to upgrade players until the other day.  It looks like the only way to access that screen is by going to the roster and then player card, right?  When I go there, I see the different groups to upgrade, but is there any way to know what we need to do in game to earn the little player coin things to actually upgrade those groups?  Also is there any place to even see who has currency to upgrade other than going into each player card?

    @illmatic84 Exactly! They were vague on the information and nothing pops up on the homepage to develop the players. But why include that option in the game and in the deep dive if we can’t use it?

    I just feel like I am either missing something entirely, or the upgrade players section is unfinished or broken.  I guess I haven't actually found a player with enough points to try making an upgrade to a skill block, so I don't know if it actually works or not.  Again, this would be a lot easier to test if there was any place to find out what players have points to use, or any way to find out how my players actually earn points.  I feel like I accidentally found a hidden feature that is unfinished....except they did PR about it and said it was in the game.

    @illmatic84 I only have two players with enough of those mystery coins to upgrade.

    One of my players is a 71 OVR TE that has already reached his cap on all skill groups.

    The other is an 84 OVR LOLB where the skills upgrade screen is completely blank. Just doesn't even open. He has coins to use but when I try to look at his skill groups, the page is just empty.

    I guess what I'm saying is, EA really stepped their game up with this... 😂

    I wasn’t even aware of this. Do you need to search through the roster for each players card to find this?

    @tm219 Yeah, if you go into the view roster tab, then go into each player card, you will see a number of these coin things in the top right corner, which I can only assume are used to upgrade the player (but clearly don't work). Then if you use R1 on PS5 to tab over to the right, you should see the upgradeable skill sets, which always seem to require more of these coins than you ever have. It's really weird.

    Did EA ever say this was something that was going to be used? I could see it just being built and non functional from a user standpoint? Maybe its what drives the offseason progression? Weird that is in there with no explanation that I have seen or heard of
