RTG player sub-outs are ridiculous
As the title says, the amount of times my player gets subbed-out in RTG is just absolutely ridiculous, not to mention frustrating. I have a HB for Nebraska, he's the starter (or at least he's supposed to be), has the highest coach trust of all the HBs, and I make sure his health is 100% going into games. Despite all this, however, I am finding myself simming most of the games that I play as he constantly gets taken out of the games, especially when the Nebraska offense gets closer to the opposing team's endzone. Most of the time I get less carries than the backup and 3rd string and I have yet to get a single TD run (I got lucky enough to get a receiving TD on a drive one game) and I'm in week 10 of freshmen year. Heck, even the QB is getting TD runs, so why can't I get that opportunity? Why am I always taken out on the opponent's side of the field?
It's very frustrating. How are we supposed to play our games, much less score TDs, if we constantly get taken out? I know others have complained about this too. I have a HB, but there are people with both HB and WR players that have the same issue. I'm not sure if it's the same with QB, MLB, and CB players though.
Solution:
Can't take credit saw on another post.
If you go to the game menu, you can go into the settings and change how often they sub you out, it defaults to 60% sub out which is crazy.
I lowered to 0 and they never sub me out, now my stats are crazy, so I went to heisman difficulty and now my stats are back to normal between 70 and 170 yrs a game depending on opponent. Some really weak opponents I can still put up 200, even 300 just like real college football against the scrubs.
It also helps to tune the speed threshold by lowering it, it changes the gap between slow and fast players, this stops the unrealistic pursuit speeds. Thus you break more big runs when you have open space rather than slow LBs running 3x your speed despite you being a 97 speed HB...
Also, the wear and tear system is broken same as the progressive fatigue usually is in madden, so just turn that off, you can do from main menu settings or in RTG it carries over either way, the logic is broken and it thanks you are gonna get hurt if they over play you, but instead it translates to subbing you out in the red zone specifically.
Last thing the fatigue is broke too, I would experiment with turning it off first and then tuning it up slowly to your preferences, since you are turning subs off, you may want to turn fatigue off because then you will get tired never subbing out, on the flipside fatigue off makes your character a little OP, but that can be offset by raising the difficulty level. In a Jr. Now, after these tweaks, my most realistic and fun season yet, Didn't win the Heisman lost in rd 2 of the CFP, but won HB of the year and was a 1st team All American. Hopefully I win it all in my Sr. Year,
One last thing, to avoid being pushed to 2nd 3rd string because your teammates level up faster than you. Try one or both these things.
1. If injuries are off ignore wear and tear on weekly agenda and just keep boosting up, add all XP to attributes as it boost your overall, rather than to badges.
2. Go into settings and change xp earned for your position 176 works well for me and feels realistic, this allows you to get more xp in game and during weekly agenda upgrades. Thus you can boost your attributes with the faster earned skill points.
Hope this helps, amazing game, hope they patch so we don't have to spend the year with workarounds
But you know EA, will likely fix the week before the new one.
