I am having the same issues. I am playing and winning but getting no rank or XP...it's frustrating because I've gone undefeated this week and I have no rank...
Unfortunately, XP is only being given for Solo Seasons (and H2H). They added conference games to Solo Seasons which are a quality upgrade over the standard 75 overall teams. The conference Solo Seasons are a close substitute for Solo Battles with slightly better rewards - and the XP bonus is huge. Hopefully SB will have better rewards over time on par with MUT.

My biggest complaint is the two minute quarters. The CPU gets a first down and the first quarter is over. Then they are in no huddle and inevitably I'm getting the ball near midfield with a minute to score. Getting 100 first downs takes an eternity when you might have 6 or 7 a game. The point is... racking up stats takes a ton of games when you get 150 yards of total offense a game.
