This is literally what brought me to the forums.
I play a WR and transferred to a Big 10 school my Junior year and had to work my way up from WR4 all the way to 1. And considering you don't get the positional battles (at least WR) every week, it could take several games to work your way up.Junior year ends and I am WR1 with so much coach trust that it is off the right side of the screen (nice UI, btw), while everyone else is off the left side of the screen. Senior year starts and I am greeted with "Positional Battle for WR3!" WHAT!?!?! So during these (several) weeks it will take for me to work my way up, you're telling me they are "knowingly" starting WORSE players?
EA, this makes ZERO sense whatsoever.- 12 months ago
I was the 2nd string HB my Freshman year at Auburn. I won the All SEC HB award. Going into my sophomore year..what! I am now the 4th string HB and sitting in the bench. I went through 2 challenges to move up and I won one a fail one and lost so many points in that loss that I am back to 4th string.
needless to say, I quit playing it.i am not going to go through so many stupid stuff to keep being throw backwards. I’m sure going into my junior year I will be 4thstri g again. Nope, I have better things to do than do accept these crazy notion the EA has in the part of the game. It builds not trust what so ever with the coach, it’s way too unrealistic.

Agreed.
You said what I forgot to put into my post as well - the moment I got my "Position Battle!" for WR3 after being WR1 the prior year and maxed on trust was the moment I quit playing RtG.
