Controller freezes / not responding

I’ve only played online , every game my controller freezes and doesn’t allow me to click anything. I pause the game and resume then it works. You can only pause the game 2/3 times. I’ve lost games due to me not being able select anything. All in which I had to cut the console off smh not same I’m goated but my record already is trash online
