CPU sucks

Please tell me why every time I play the game the  CPU always decide to be the worst i have ever played. Someone will throw the ball and my CPU will be standing right next to them and not do anything. Also one time the QB was running down the field and instead of the CPU running up to tackle, he back peddled and ran in the opposite direction. This happens every single time
