Fake snap results in 3 second snap delay, can't snap when defenders jump

I've seen this a couple times now: I'm unable to snap the ball when a defender jumps offsides because the hot route icon stays active for 3 seconds after a fake snap.

Offline dynasty, Heisman difficulty, PS5.
