Jump Ball Frustration

Wildly frustrating when no matter what on a jump ball floated into a standing WR, I can change to my defender who is short of the WR, and before the ball is close (pic 1 location), then it just slots me behind the WR (pic 2) only to wait for WR to jump in front of me and catch it (pic 3). No matter what control or how I'm pulling the defender down to stay in front, just goes and stands behind.  Awful.
