I've seen some great coaches try and recover surprise onside kicks, and I mean in really big games, too. Nick Saban, Bill Cowher, and Sean Payton have tried it (and recovered it) in championship game or Super Bowl situations.
But those onside kicks were completely disguised. It's different from the way an onside kick formation sets up mostly on one side of the field, making their intention obvious. I remember on NCAA Football 2017 you could audible or call timeout in that kind of situation. Strange that the ability to do this is not available on the current version of the game.
It's kind of silly that you can't do that anymore. Why did EA change it? Seems like a step back rather than forward to me. I mean, how many patches have you guys already done for this game? A lot of them have seemed kind of extraneous as far as gameplay goes. Why don't you fix this on the next patch, EA? Do a relevant patch for a change.🙃
