Man Coverage Issues in gameplay

It has become annoying that when I am in man coverage, if any receiver comes across the middle of the field, the defender will drop off of him and run towards the quarterback, leaving the receiver wide open. Is there a coverage setting that needs to be changed? Or is this a glitch that needs to be update. And by the way, it’s especially happening when a defender is covering a TE or RB.
