To start off simply, Road to Glory should not be monetized. RTG is a completely offline game mode. I get on RTG to have fun at the end of the day after I’ve worked, not to grind just to make my player 1-2 OVR better. Yesterday I decided to make a HB and went to WVU as a 74 OVR HB4. Granted I know I was low on depth chart so opportunities to get some playing time would be very limited. Still at the end of the season, I had only progressed to be a 76 OVR HB2. While I may not have had an entire seasons worth of games to get experience, I did have an entire seasons worth of practice. And because of this new practice system I cannot choose a practice that I know I will have a better chance of succeeding at meaning not all practices I was able to get gold on.
After this season was over, I decided to see how much it would cost to buy points just for **bleep** and giggles. $140. $140 of my hard earned money if I wanted to upgrade my player all the way. Which I wouldn’t even be able to do right away because you have to meet a minimum legacy score in order for your max overall to be increased. This is exactly the type of stuff that made me stop playing the NBA2K games. I grew increasingly tired of my video games feeling they were a part time job rather than something I do for fun.
If you want to monetize the ultimate team mode, fine. If you want to monetize the dynasty mode, fine(I guess since it can be an online mode although I don’t play it that way). If you wanted to monetize for the sole purpose of being able to purchase cosmetics that can be used anywhere, fine. But don’t monetize an offline only mode where my character is only going to be played for about 15-20 hours before it can never be played again.
I was so excited when CFB25 came out after so many years of no college football video game. I was excited when I saw you would be releasing CFB26 and we’d be getting a new game every year. I was excited when I saw the changes to RTG for CFB27 making it a little more difficult than it was previously. But had I known making it more difficult meant you were going to monetize the OFFLINE ONLY GAME MODE, you wouldn’t have gotten a cent from me this year.
Do Better. Your fans and players don’t deserve this.
