I just lost a playoff game to LSU because the I called hot route slant for receiver X from the line of scrimmage because he had a completely open field to his left and the DB ran his route perfectly and directly in front of him with my WR basically so close they'd trip over each other in real life. I thought he might have had an openening and threw it but naturally it fell incomplete. We actually scored on the play but EA wouldn't have us ahead of LSU 24-21 so they ensured they'd return a kickoff immediately afterwards. Then, my WRs couldn't catch the ball, trying to hot route quickly with just over a minute left wouldn't work because the buttons were delayed when pressed, so I'd press again and something completely different than a hot route would show (usually a completely different play), and on and on. Several times I tried to pass the ball quickly to an open receiver and the QB wouldn't throw, then finally throw when the receiver's opening closed. And of course, 90% of the time when a perfectly thrown ball is placed in the receiver's hands and a DB barely touches him he drops the ball. And I can't forget about my 95 rated QB overthrowing his receivers or throwing too far ahead or behind for no reason. I don't mind losing a game naturally but absurd things like this not only waste my time and my money, but they make the game frustrating and not enjoyable at all. It's as if no one at EA tested anything before release. I hope 2K will develop a college football game someday soon.
