Server Disconnect when viewing recorded clip after a score

Console: PS5

Mode: Anything connected to online (CUT, Road to CFP, Online Dynasty, etc)

Issue: Server disconnects when you are viewing a recorded clip on your console after someone scores. I initially thought it was due to the console trying to upload the clip after recording, but even when that setting is turned off, this is still happening.

Frequency: Almost every time it is attempted.

    Hey, there

This happens because opening the PS5 Share overlay or viewing media cards during an active online match causes the console to briefly pause or deprioritize the game's network handshake. The EA servers interpret this sudden pause as a connection desync or network drop and disconnect you from the match.

Here are a few steps you can take to stop the disconnects:

    • Use Silent Shortcuts: Avoid opening the full Share menu mid-game. Head to PS5 Settings ➔ Captures and Broadcasts ➔ Shortcuts for Create Button and set a Press & Hold or Double Press shortcut to save clips silently without opening the overlay screen.
    • Disable Auto-Upload: Go to PS5 Settings ➔ Captures and Broadcasts ➔ Captures and turn Auto-Upload off. Background syncs to the PlayStation App right after a play can choke network packet delivery.
    • Change Capture Format: Set your capture format to MP4 (1080p) instead of WebM/4K under Video Clip Format to reduce processing overhead during scoring plays.
    • Review Post-Game: Avoid viewing clips in the Media Gallery until you're safely back in the main menu hub after the game ends.

Hope this helps keep you connected!
