Billing currency conversion issue -

Hi.

My chat transcript below as I am too lazy to retype it all.. Short story - see part in Bold / underlined in big font below.

you: I very nearly bought 11k funds thinking it would be R99 - Had that billed me $25 It would have cost over R230...
you: R99 is not ANYWHERE near R230
you: Please have this fixed to be a more accurate estimate - this is going to mislead MANY people

I'm trying to understand exactly the issue here, and from what I'm gathering you're reporting that the offer should be more expensive than it is?

Thing is - It shows R99 for 11k funds. However, the moment I select it to buy and go to credit card page, it loads $25 as the amount that will be deducted. Hence, it IS more expensive than the price shown.
I understand if it shows something close but not 100% accurate, but to show R99 and deduct R230+ would anger quite a few people, me included.
If EA commits to giving us 'poor unfortunate' South African's the funds at that price I would be happy, but to show R99 and charge $25 is something that could be considered illegal, especially with our country's consumer protection act.

I haven't heard back from the studio, but are you by any chance using a proxy to pay?

What really makes me mad here is the Live Chat person essentially telling a customer that by posting something in the AHQ, the Developers will see it.
Ha! We know better. As many of the Moderators have said, the devs never visit the AHQ, and "Erwin" is either misinformed (which wouldn't surprise me) or deliberately fobbing off the player by having him send his query to a black hole.

Also, this isn't exactly resolved yet - values are still more than 50% wrong. Any effort from anyone to resolve this by any chance? I am starting to doubt it...

No one here on the AHQ can do anything about this issue, and the people who can do something do not visit the AHQ.
The AHQ is not EA's official channel for anything at all. It is for "player-to-player" technical self-help.
(We're all just fellow gamers here, doin' the best we can...)

eafrancois - any chance you can escalate it to them again - nothing has happened whatsoever since and this is a bit annoying as people WILL be cheated out of money. This is so much of a legal claim invite in our country its not even funny - You have made them aware of the issue and they still keep it as is... Shocking...
