C & C Remastered RIP OFF
I own the Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection. 17 C & C games. My question is: Why aren't EA offering a discount on the C & C Remastered Collection, to owners of the Ultimate Collecti...
Because the remaster isn't part of the Ultimate Collection?
I don't own the Ultimate Collection but I bought the First Decade pack when that came out (and already had copies of most of the games) so now I own 3 copies of the original C&C if you count the remaster. What you're not realising is that this is basically a new game. There was a lot of effort put into this project and you cannot expect it to be given away for free.
The price seems very fair to me. I'd have payed that to Frank for the remastered sountrack alone (£20 for 100 or so tracks.. bargain).
I have hated on EA in the past and I stand my comments about them but for this I have to applaud what they have accomplished and think that £20 is money well spent.
They likely will do an "Ultimate Ultimate Collection" at some point which includes the remaster (or a Legacy Collection and a Remaster Collection if we get more remasters) but as it stands this is a new product and it doesn't make sense to give it away free.
I didn't say they should give it away for free.
I said get it discounted for owners of the Ultimate Collection.
I say this because the Ultimate Collection was released on Origin as opposed to earlier versions of C&C which were not released on Origin.
I agree the price is fair, £17.99 in UK, not £20.
But I will be waiting till I can get it cheaper.
Since it should be easy enough for Origin to identify those who purchased the Ultimate Collection, it would have been possible to give us a few bucks off. It probably wouldn't have taken much to get the extra "feel good" for the repeat customers, perhaps a 10% off "upgrade discount"? I would like to think this was discussed with the players who were involved in the remastering process with a good reason for not doing so. But I do have to wonder how many "new" players will be purchasing the game. The $20 price tag is not typical given the amount of content and if they charged more there would certainly be significantly fewer purchasers by those of us who have bought the game 2 or 3 times over already.
Ah well, it is what it is.
