I´m using razer naga 2014 left handed edition. After reading your answer I hooked up another Razer Naga mouse, Razer Abyssus 1800 and with that one the drag and select works as it should with both right hand and left handed setup in settings. The issue seems to be contained ot the purely left handed mouse.

No, actually, if I remember correctly, lefthanded mice are indeed known to cause issues on some of the older games.
These games have changed a lot over the years though, and some later ones are on completely different game engines than the older ones, so "X happens on all games" is generally just plain false. Exactly which games did you try and did you have this issue with?
