C&C Red Alert 2 won't start windows 10

Let me start by saying I know there are a lot of topics for Red Alert 2 and troubleshooting mentioned. I have tried installing patches, all compatibility modes, turning off origin overlay and cloud saves and pretty much any other suggestion I could find. The reason I made a new topic is most of the posts I found were about windows 8 or lower and were years old. 

Up until about a month ago the game would run fine for me. I only play skirmishes but I like to use the built in map functions to create a quick map before I do so. All this was working fine. I tried to play yesterday after a while of not playing.When I clicked to play on the origin client, it loaded up the usual window to pick if I wanted red alert 2 or yuris. Regardless of which one I have selected it just closes that window and goes back to the origin client. I contacted EA but was told they no longer support it.

I have also tried to uninstall the game and reinstall but this didn't work.

I'm running on a windows 10 hp  255 G7 Notebook, all the latest updates and graphic drivers have been installed.

I'm hoping someone can suggest something I haven't tried or someone else has come across this issue and solved it.
