C&CTA Cheating??

Interesting questions, which may well pose many replies, my thoughts are listed below.

1. More than 1 account.

Remember that to run a single account can be very time consuming so to balance out multiply accounts efficiently is even more time consuming, not really cheating. Using a second account in another alliance to spy is more devious but not any different to sending a trusted player to do the same (real life equivalent), tactical and available for all to do therefore not cheating.

Caviat: - EA are potentuially making more money if a player spends on funds for more than one account.

2. Using research farms

I have been exposed to this on a new world recently and not aware prior, this advantages in that the Research points can be increased for researchng units, however it is time limited as the person offering a base for this has to invest a lot of resource to increase the gains to match or outweigh what can be gained from outposts or bases. Remember more balanced resources are required to develop ranking and upgrade. Limited benefit and available to all so not cheating.

Caviat : -In my opinion RP farming would be better if you were unable to farm from your own alliance as why shuld you be able to attack your own players? (this is a game and maybe only able to farm other alliance bases).

3. Offence and defence are independant of each other and if they were dependant an alliance could hit all your bases simultaneously and lock you down till you are dead and not able to do a thing about it. This would incur a huge amount of RT and soon drop out of the game.  Being able to counter attack while you command centre is in tact gives you a chance to remove the threat during times of trouble, much like real life. This is a must to keep all players attention and be as realistic as possible, therefore I do not consider it a cheat.
