CNC-remastered multiplayer, Very laggy (europe)

Diehard fan, and loving the single player campaign, its (almost) everything I remember CNC and RA being, already managed to finish one of the campaigns BUT,

I want to be constructive but i want to know if this is something only i am noticing.
I've been playing a lot of classic RA with a friend, and now tried playing multiplayer Remastered for about 10 hours, and it has not been great.

Playing 2 player vs 2 hard AI we've noticed;

That It feels like we're connecting to a server far far away, with a ping of somewhere between the 120ms and 5000ms.
Even worse, a game could (sometimes when it starts) feel fine in the beginning, but when the action starts, become extremely unresponsive.
Units are drifting sideways, are un-selectable for seconds on out, while the action continues, you can watch your entire army get destroyed all whilst not having ANY control.
Other times it just doesn't want to host, by having the top row 3 buttons grayed out, with the only option being skirmish.

Neither of us are in a position where we could enable UPNP and I hope thats the issue,
I would love host a game directly, Im on a Swedish connection (well into the gigabits up/down) so Im sure the issue is not that,
If there are ports i should forward to direct connect ill happily do so!

I understand this is launch time, and I am very excited to play more and I'm loving the single player mode so far, a lot of parts of the single-player experience feel very snappy and it was a pleasure to play through.

    Most people are struggling to even get onto the Online part of the Game, so count yourself lucky that you've got that far.

    First of all, the game itself has just released, and many people are seeing lots of bugs, mostly relating to Graphics and the game not even loading for some. As the game itself is using what is meant to be the original code, the experience might be similar to the original game when the game's connection is low. If it's just you and 1 other friend, you might have better luck using Peer-To-Peer (PTP), though that is assuming the modern Version of the game allows that. I haven't looked at the multiplayer, so I don't know for sure. I only looked at where it would be found, and didn't look into settings within it.

    If you're local to your friend (living in the same property or next to one another), maybe see if you can link together directly via a Modem (use the same router).

    I'm not an expert, so don't be surprised if that isn't helpful in your specific case.
