Command & Conquer Kane's Wrath: Intel Database not always updated

I'm 3/4 of the way through C&C Kane's Wrath and have noticed that the intelligence database has missed some updates after successfully completing missions. Yes, I've double checked that I've completed particular missions as required. I've even re-completed them from an earlier saved game. I can't find a way to edit the saved game or other profile files. Is there a way to do this or a file that can be download with all the data in the database (perhaps a completed game file that I could save after I have finished)? It would be much appreciated as it appears that the game is not always rewarding my progress.

Intel database is not tied to saved games. Instead, there is a set of INI files within this location:

    C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath\Profiles\[C&C 3 KW PROFILE NAME]\IDB

In the case of Kane's Wrath, there are four of them. I can give you the values I have if you wish, but I am missing two entries myself at present and don't know the IDs needed for the others.

However, if you just want to read the data, the C&C Wiki has all Intel Database from both Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath readily available: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Intelligence_Database

Haven't encountered your issue, though. Are you sure you're getting them when you're ingame and losing them afterwards, or are you referring to missing entries from bonus objectives that you don't deal with?

  • Many thanks for your response, Plokite95. So that's where the IDB files are!?

Having experienced a problem with saving C&C 3, I think the cause lay with the way that Origin saves the game data using cloud updates, so I turned this off (although it seems to repeatedly turn itself back on and overwrite the data with old saves or replace it with blank data!). The way round this is after saving the game data (to find where these are saved - somewhere like: C:\Users\[User Name]\Saved Games\Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath\[User Name) then before exiting the game (the windows key works) copy this user name file to the desktop and copy it back again if the game/save overwrites it. I've found that this can be done by using the wondows key again in game.

As to the missing intel database data, I found this by the excellent RichPlaystation page here: https://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/942784-command-and-conquer-3-kanes-wrath/faqs/54957. The four files can be edited using notepad, just make sure that after each edit you save the original file as a txt file. It worked for me and I can now see all the intel data in game. Beware that the problem of Origin cloud saves may mess this up, so play around with saving locally or turning off cloud saves.

Once again, many thanks and wish Kane my best wishes if you see him - I wouldn't want to become his enemy!
