After selecting which CC3 I would like to play it quickly prompts with a Direct X 9 error... this is fairly common from what I've read but I can't seem to find the real solution to the problem... anyone have any ideas?

Same problem, have install direct x 9, still the same error,
I read the Steam version can run with little tweak,
I'm gonna try reinstalling it,,

Following these instructions to install DirectX 9 doesn't work?: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Command_%26_Conquer:_Generals#DirectX_8.1_error_.28Windows.29 (it was written for Generals, but should also work for this game) If that doesn't work, look if there is a file called "dbghelp.dll" in the CNC3 installation directory and delete it. Does any of this help you?
Edit: I read somewhere that running the game as administrator mode could fix this. Although that sounds very unlikely to me, could you please try that?
Removing dbghelp.dll did the trick. Thank you.
