Command and conquer 3 tiberium wars login failed - can't connect to server

Hi,

Just bought the C&C 3: Tiberium wars from the Origin Sale running now. Downloaded and installed the game with no problems.

When I started it though, it required me to Log in with my EA Credentials in order to "Activate" the game. When I did so, I got an error that it cannot connect to servers.

Tried with both antivirus and firewall off - still no luck.

Running Win 7 64

Hoping for a fast workaround for the problem. I supposed the said activation servers don't exist anymore...

I'm having the EXACT same issue as Bubon 2000.
I click PLAY in origin - - OR - - i run game outside of Origin.. This does not matter. As the "TIBERIAN SUN" splash screen comes up, so does a tiny little EA box that asks for EMAIL and PASSWORD.
It always fails saying what Bubon 200 already stated.
This is some sort of legacy BS thing left here, and yes, I'm sure it is something to do with our computers. I have been running this game fine, my last time was in August. Then I had computer issues. I have a new hard drive and a fresh install. I remember this silly EMAIL / PASSWORD box from years ago, but it worked back then.
This is pretty lame EA.
