Trying to install Command and Conquer Remastered. Get Error after download Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. 1612 Then I go to https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/your-vc-runtime-package-has-not-installed-correctly-error-troubleshooting and then I cannot find pat for installing vc_red.msi file. Tried deleting files and redownloading. No luck.
Same here and very frustrating. I came back to EA after a four year break. Signed up for premium and got BF V and all of its issues and now C&C wont download.
Need some more details, can you post a link to a screenshot of the error message? Is does this pop up while downloading? Because if it pops up if you try and circumvent the measures in place to stop you from playing before release then there's no much we can do.
The game is not out yet for another 1 day, 3 hours so it's not like there's a lot of pre-existing knowledge out there.
However, you might want to manually install the VC Softwares from the 3 folders in "CnCRemastered\__Installer\vc"
I have the same error. Now I read this post and I tried it manually and the setup said I already have a newer Version installed.
I really hope that the game will run 1900.^^
I may have resolved the issue as the game is now listed as ready to play.
Problem, My finalisation after download would not complete.
I followed the EA guidance _installer vc redist and I had three years vc2010, vc2015, vc2017. 2010 hung and the other two said there was an error as another windows installer was running.
Rebooted and made sure origin was not logged on. Still the same problem.
Solution: opened up task manager and saw that a windows installer was running. Closed it
did the EA bc redist
2010 worked, the other two still hung.
the game is now installed and ready to play.
Lets see at 18:00 BST.....
Fixed it . I repaired my latest C++ VS with a new file from the Microsoft page and after a restart the Preload finished.
I have installed newest VC++ package from Microsoft page but still getting same error message.
It says kinda "VС++ redistributable package cannot be installed. 1636.
UPD
Solved by reinstalling(not repairing!) all the VC++ redistributable packages from 2005 to 2019.
Uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) from Windows Apps&Features.
Now Install the Game from Origin App (Maybe run as Administrator), and the previously uninstalled C++ Package will now installed by Origin App.
Works fine for me..
