What did you run as admin? Origin? Or each game's launcher? Try running the launchers as admin if you didn't.
Just in case: The launchers are inside each game's root directory.
Running as admin worked for some people, but it may also be caused by Windows' UAC blocking access to certain files. Are you the admin on the specific PC and logged in as such? Alternatively you can try disabling UAC in: "Control Panel" -> "User Accounts" -> "change User account settings" just to test (although I didn't need to do this as a permanent solution)

As far as I know, only RA2/YR gives that 'string manager' error... and it's caused by not being admin and/or not running in compat mode.

Use WinXP SP3 compatibility mode. These games are a bit newer than Win95.

Set compatibility settings to XP SP3, and still get the error.

If I were sure that this error applied ONLY to RA 2, I might pay for RA 3 and the other C & C games in the pack.
Any thoughts?
