Compressionlike Artifacts depending on Zoomlevel

Hi, first i want to say thx to the developers to bring up this great remaster.

Howerver i encountered a problem with the Graphics. When zoomed in or zoomed out at maximum Level, there are some Kind of "resize" artifacts in the graphics. Some of the terraingraphics are blotchy and not sharp, while the direct neighbour cells are. If i zoom back 1-2 steps, everything looks fine again. It is extremly obvious at the farest camera distance. I can almost see some gridlike-pattern on the battlefield (grass Terrain only) and very unsharp Terrain Details in General. Thos blurry spots remind me on low Quality JPGs and their blocky artifacts.

I noticed it has something to do with the Zoomlevel. So may be it is related to the filter C&C Remastered is using  for zooming  - and if yes, i like to see an improvement. Anybody else noticed some optical discomfort at certain Zoomlevels?

My Setting: Native 1920 x 1080, 100% Scaling in Windows (Windows 10)

GPU Nvidia GTX 970 4 GB newest Driver (i have no integraded GPU on my CPU)

Unfortunatley this Problem makes look C&C Remaster less beautiful as it should. Units are affected too, but they are almost alsways crisp enough to call them acceptable. I only noticed at at temperate Terrain with the grassy Ground. Here is a resized Screenshot to Show the Problem.

⚽ The left one was taken with max zoomed out camera. It Shows some blocky blotches. The trees look very unbalanced. Some parts are sharp, others are not.

🏈 the Right one was tanke with just 1 Step zoomed more Closer ingame. A lot of the Problems are gone. There is a slight improvement when i add an additional zoomstep.

Any ideas or observations about that?

  • OK, I see your point, though I hadn't noticed it myself so much, it's a minor issue, at least the game works for you, unlike a lot of other people.

  • I agree with you that gamebreaking bugs and Problems have a higher priority than this. However i disagree that this is just very minor problem. It affects the graphic quality which is one of the main points of this remaster. If it would happen just on some random inbetween zoomlevel, i would completley agree with you. But maxium zoomed out seems to be the prefered setting for many players. And zoomed in max. is just like the original Dos Version for best close up Details. So those two settings will propably be used most of the time by Players.

Unforunately i noticed that my screen Resolution affects this aswell. If i select a resoltion between Full HD and UHD with Nvidia Dynamic Resolution (basically downscaling to my FHD Monitor from a higher Resolution) the problem seems to go away - when i select 2715x 1527 (DSR Factor 2.00).

So this might not be a problem for players with different monitor resolution than 1920 x 1080.

Just pointing this out. Thank you for your respond and your conformation that i am not alone with this Observation.
