DirectX 9.0c error

When I try to start Red Alert 3(Steam Copy) It comes up with this error "Please make sure you have DirectX 9.0 or higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements. and that you do not have hardware acceleration disabled in the Display control panel."

I have tried many times to get this running I know I have the specs to run this kind of game and Hardware acceleration is on, I have tried manytimes to install directx 9.0c to play but it comes up with the same error. Please, any help is accepted. 😕mileyhappy:

Hi, as a first step try verifying the integrity of the game cache. You can do this in steam by right-clicking and choosing Properties, then checking the local files tab.

I had this exact same issue and there doesn't look like there is a solution posted. I also downloaded numerous DirectX 9c files from Microsoft at the suggestion of other forums, but they did not work. I have an ATI Radeon HD 5570 with DirectX 11. The screen blinks a few times when I try to open the game on Windows 7, then it gives me that error. I bought the game from the store, not from Steam, so I do not know how to verify the integrity of the game cache. Please help!
