Game crashes every time I try to save (C&C Remastered)

Product: Command & Conquer Remastered
Platform:PC
Summarize your bug Whenever I try to save, the game crashes. Unfortunately, the game is unplayable in the current state.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It seems that it is unique to my game as of now since I haven't seen any other posts about it. I've tried to verify files, but to no avail.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game completely shuts down and a crash report is sent.
What do you expect to see? I expect the game to save as usual and then be able to continue playing.

    Only Tip. Open game folder and run ClientLauncherG.exe as Administrator. The game may not have permission to write to disk

    Check if you have any anti-ransomware enabled. Even Windows Defender has this feature which doesn't allow apps to write in documents.

    Try to disable AV if you have one (Avast, Avira, ect)

    I’m having this same issue on the last Nod mission. After a certain point it just crashes when I try to hard save or quick save. Cant finish the game. Super bummed.

    @Aneurysm234 This may be due to having too many savegames. Try cleaning out your savegames.

    Not sure why that would prevent you from finishing the game, though...

    @Nyerguds I’ve only ever made quick saves the entire game, and as far as I can tell, it only makes a few before it starts overwriting the previous ones. If it’s been storing them somewhere else, unbeknownst to me, I’ll delete them, but as far as I can tell, I only have about 5 or so quick saves. I haven’t played the game since this issue since it was thoroughly discouraging. I didn’t want to start GDI if the same thing was going to happen.

    @Aneurysm234 No, I don't think quick saves ever overwrite themselves. I've heard of issues before from people overloading their cloud storage due to overuse of the quick save button.

    I mean open the Load Game menu and you'll see how many you got.

    This isn't to do with saves. I have the same issue on this exact mission. At a certain point I notice this every single time in my game. I only have 3 save files.

    I have found it has occurred on missions where I capture and produce GDI units/buildings as NOD faction. I think this has something to do with it. Pure guess.

    Who can investigate this or help? I'd happily try to isolate the cause. Long mission and I do really enjoy the game.

    Sometimes my game has crashed if using offline mode and trying to save... but that's another story.

    I also have the same issue on this mission and I have less than 5 save files.

    The bug is quite annoying, but what is even more annoying to me is the fact that this issue hasn't been addressed in 2 years 😢

    2024 and my googling of this issue led me to this thread. This is still a problem. I finished the GDI campaign, and now on the final Nod mission. Randomly, after a long time on this mission, I encountered this game breaking bug, after quick saving. I'm trying the "Repair" feature on the EA app now. If that doesn't work, I may just have to lower difficulty to finish the game without saving.

    EDIT: So I reloaded and earlier save and that fixed the issue for me. Finally finished the game.
