Game needs DX 8.1 or higher
#106023617Hello, I just purchased a new computer and I am having trouble connecting to C&C Generals Zero Hour. The message I get is "Please make sure you have Direct X 8.1 or higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements." I am sure I have a good enough video card (AMD Radeon) and plenty of computer to run the game as it is a new gaming computer. I ran DXDiag and it has version DX 12. Any help would be appreciated. Jeff Brooks
These DirectX errors are caused by a library file that was left behind in the game from testing.
To solve the issues, find and delete the file "dbghelp.dll" in the game's install folder. There will be one in both the main Generals folder and the Zero Hour folder.
