The drone will almost always be behind enemy units if your opponent is clever. So actually getting to it can be difficult, since even ground units can block the way of air units and vice versa. Most units need to be standing to shoot (unless they have raider capability), but two units cannot stand in the same hex field, even if one is a ground unit and the other is an air unit. That really is a design error in my opinion.

It can be logically concluded that this makes no sense.
Premise:
Two units from opposing armies cannot be in the same field at the same time.
Observation:
When one of the units is an air unit, and the other is a ground unit, one can move over the other or the other can walk/drive under the other just fine. For a moment, they ARE in the very same hex field.
The observation is in direct contradiction to the premise. There. You're welcome.
